Santacon 2003! 180 like minded Santas in London - drinking, singing, visiting sex shops, admiring art galleries and dancing with Hare Krishnas. Definately a high point on the Santa calender, if not one of the best things I've done all year. Arrived at about 12.30pm on the banks of the Thames to find only 3 Santas. By 1.20pm there were Santas marching as far as the eye could see into the Tate Gallery, followed by a tour of the Southbank via various pubs. After crossing the river we climbed Nelson's Column in trafalger Square and sang christmas carols (some words naturally changed) which attracted a huge crowd and cheering. Lecister square was next, after stopping off at a pub of course, followed by Soho, Mayfair, Oxford Street and Covent Garden. The night ended with a special Santa party in a club in Holborn.
