Lyme to Axminster Railway Viaduct @ Uplyme, Devon, UK Thursday 1st September 2005
To be perfectly honest, trains bore me. Some people enjoy trainspotting, that's cool. Personally I don't. I do however like abandoned things that were once really proud and now left to rot. Why? I don't know. Disused underground stations are particularly good, but there's plenty of bits and pieces of old stuff lying around the landscape of the UK that other than local people knowing about only exist on OS maps and a few internet sites. To be honest I didn't expect anything as big as this, it really is something to behold. I decided that part of my new exercise thingy would be to start doing more walks, so planned out a route whilst staying in Lyme through the countryside, starting at the Viaduct. Due to it not raining, and most of the walk downhill, it was quite pleasant :)

Strange markings on a tree. Abi reckons they are hobo symbols. I reckon they're something to do with dogging. The top one is from the runic alphabet and means either moose or man. - Views: 111 - Comments: 1
